¡Hola!
Learning a foreign language is part of the Primary National Curriculum and is a requirement for all children within key stage 2. We at Forsbrook Primary School have adopted a whole school approach to the teaching of Spanish to all Key Stage 2 pupils.
The aim is to develop the confidence of each child in their language learning. We do this by primarily using the Language Angels scheme of work which provides relevant, broad, stimulating, and vibrant learning opportunities covering the four key learning skills:
- Listening
- Speaking
- Reading and writing
- Grammar
We hope that all pupils will develop a genuine interest and positive curiosity about the Spanish language and an understanding of other cultures and the world around them.
Topics include: core vocabulary and phonetics, simple greetings and questions, The Weather, At the café, The Planets, Food, At School, Culture, Family, Pets and many more.
We also take part in food tasting and finding out about annual celebrations. The food tasting goes down particularly well!
