Jan Warner, Co-opted Governor

Sep 1, 2022 | Governor Profile

I have 39 years’ experience as a teacher, Deputy Head and Head Teacher, working with children across the three Key Stages.  I helped to steer my school to become ‘Outstanding’ in 3 Ofsted inspections in my various roles as a leader and manager of a large, thriving establishment.

I have a passion for giving children the best, safe, stimulating learning environment, which enables them to achieve their potential. To this end, I will bring that passion and leadership qualities to Forsbrook Primary School.  I will be working closely with a thriving Governing Body and am sure my experiences in leadership and management will support and enhance the school’s improvement and forward thinking.

I have great interpersonal skills, believing that good communication is vital for any goals to be achieved. This means working with all people involved in a child’s life – parents, school, governors and the local community.

As Literary co-ordinator for many years, I worked closely with the local authority supporting colleagues. I was also involved with the DFE, working with colleagues country-wide to produce the literary SATS tests.

Producing the School Development Plan was my role as Deputy and then as Head Teacher. Many meetings were held with staff and governors and being a good listener, communicator and forward thinker, was of great importance.

I look forward to working with like-minded people to continue the improvements already made within the school.
