WHAT are we aiming for?
Our SUSTAINABILITY curriculum aims to create children who:
- have a genuine care for our world
- are environmentally aware
- are passionate and pro-active in bringing about positive change
HOW do we achieve this?
Our SUSTAINABILITY curriculum is embedded within our creative curriculum.
Each year group from Reception to Year 6 focus on sustainability in one of their topics. This is structured as a spiral curriculum and focuses on three main areas:
- Recycling
- Endangered Animals
- Pollution
Our Sustainability curriculum is also enhanced through visitor assemblies and our eco committee, who use non-curriculum time to care for our school. These children also promote sustainability through their monthly magazine ‘Earth Matters’.
