Year 3 Summer Term Learning Summary
This term in Maths, Year 3 have been developing their understanding of multiplication, division and fractions. We have also been learning about money, focusing on addition and subtraction with pounds and pence and applying these skills to solve problems.
In English, we have thoroughly enjoyed our Rivers topic. The children wrote an information guide about the River Trent and explored rivers from around the world. We have also been developing our retrieval skills and learning how language and layout help contribute to the meaning of a text.
In Geography, we began learning about our local area by identifying and describing its physical and human features. We also explored how Forsbrook has changed over time.
In RE, we discussed the question, “What does it mean to be a follower of God?” We focused particularly on the stories of Abraham and Noah and explored how they demonstrated their faith in God.
Finally, we rounded off our History topic on the Romans with a fantastic trip to Chester, where the children had the opportunity to bring their learning to life through hands-on experiences and exploration.
