We Love to Dance!
At Forsbrook (CE) Primary School we love to dance! We work hard to offer as many opportunities, both in school and in the wider community, to our children as we can.
Create and Dance!
Over the last few years, we have worked hard to establish a range of dance opportunities. A major part of this is the link that we have created with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and our involvement in their ‘Create and Dance’ projects. We are actively involved in their ‘Nutcracker’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ projects. The projects involve using main themes from their much loved stories as a basis for creative dance. Children from Years 2 to 4 have then used their PE lesson to work to create their own version of the theme. These projects have culminated in a range of events from video submissions to the Royal Opera House and performing at sharing events in the local community in front of dancers from the Royal Ballet!
Here are just some of the projects that we have done:
Stoke-on-Trent Dance Event at Victoria Halls
For the last 3 years, our Year 5 students have participated in a dance event for schools and colleges at the Victoria Hall, Hanley. Schools from all over Stoke-on-Trent take part in the 4 day event and every year our children do us proud!
