This half term has been a busy time in Year 6.
We delved into the captivating world of Holes by Louis Sachar, using the novel as a springboard for various writing taskes including writing a persuasive brochure enticing visitors to Camp Green Lake. We certainly needed to use our imaginations to convince the reader.
In preparation for our upcoming end-of-year assessments, we dedicated time to revising key topics, ensuring that we were well-prepared.
Our fieldwork study was a particularly engaging project, where we created surveys to gather data on how to improve our local area. We analysed the results and composed thoughtful letters to our local councillor, asking them to consider our ideas for change.
In D&T, we designed and built electric vehicles powered by pulley motors. This was tricky but we learnt how to work as a team and problem-solve when things didn’t work out as planned.
We also embraced our theatrical sides by auditioning for parts in our highly anticipated end-of-year production, Aladdin Trouble.
