Summer Half Term 1

May 18, 2026 | Year 6

What an unbelievably busy Summer 1 half term!

Our classroom has been buzzing with energy, starting in English where we dived into our “Plastic Planet” topic, channelling our inner Greta Thunberg to master persuasive language and write powerful speeches.

In History and Geography, we continued our deep dive into World War Two and explored our local area, putting our knowledge to use by creating informative leaflets that identify exactly how our community meets people’s needs.

Science was all about light as we looked in-depth at how shadows are formed and traced the journey of how light travels all the way to our brains to allow us to see.

In RE, we explored the Gospel and unpacked the question “What would Jesus do?” by examining a range of religious texts linked to facing hardship.

Our active minds matched our active bodies in PE, where we developed our skills in athletics and cricket, while in Computing, we flexed our digital muscles through 3D modelling using Tinkercad to design and manipulate shapes for various needs.

To top it all off, we enjoyed an inspiring visit to Lichfield Cathedral and, most importantly, we completed our KS2 SATs with great courage and determination.

We are incredibly proud of everyone’s hard work!
