Writer of the Week
At Forsbrook CE Primary School, we just love celebrating children’s achievements and progress. Every Monday, during our celebration assembly, one child is chosen to become the owner of this amazing trophy for one whole week. Our ‘writer of the week’ is someone who has impressed their teacher with an outstanding piece of work. This could be a gripping narrative or an informative report or it could because a child has met their writing targets or shown considerable improvement. Anyone could be our ‘writer of the week’.
How is our ‘writer of the week’ chosen?
Any child who stands out for an amazing piece of work is sent to Mrs Cooke, our headteacher, who celebrates their achievement and presents them with a head teacher’s sticker. Mrs Cooke then chooses an overall writer of the week ready for the following Monday’s celebration assembly. This is always a very difficult decision! During the celebration assembly, Mrs Cooke celebrates the child’s achievement and presents them with the trophy. They then get to display their trophy on their class desk for a whole week and their photograph is placed on our website in our Writer. of the Week hall of fame (below). This is always a very proud moment!
