Year 2 – Spring 1 Update

Feb 13, 2025 | Year 2

In Maths, we explored the four operations, focusing on the relationship between addition and subtraction. We investigated the properties of 2D and 3D shapes and developed our money skills by learning about notes and coins.

Our RE lessons took us on a journey through sacred places, where we explored the key features of a church and a synagogue and learned why they are important to believers.

In Computing, we had fun programming Bee Bots, using algorithms to create instructions and debugging them when needed.

In Science, we became botanists, observing and describing how seeds and bulbs grow into mature plants. We also got creative in Art, experimenting with mono printing to produce unique one-off designs.

Our Geography lessons took us across the world to Zambia, where we discovered what life is like for children in a small village. We compared their daily routines, schools, and homes to our own, helping us appreciate different ways of life.

It’s been a fantastic term full of exciting discoveries, hands-on learning, and creative projects. We can’t wait to see what’s in store next!
