11th March 2026

Dear Parents/Carers

As part of our broad and balanced curriculum, we endeavour to provide our pupils with hands-on learning experiences. Next half term, Year 4 children will be studying The Maya Civilisation and plan to visit Cadbury World in Birmingham. The visit includes workshops providing hands-on activities to enrich their learning.

The trip is planned for Monday 8th June 2026.

The coach will be leaving school at 8.45am therefore children will need to be in school for the earlier time of 8:30am and children will be back by 3:15pm traffic permitting. If we happen to run late, you will be informed via dojo. If your child is attending an after school club please let us know and we will escort them back to school.

Children should bring a packed lunch (no glass bottles please). However, if your child is entitled to free school meals and you would like a packed lunch provided by school, please contact the office no later than Friday 29th May (due to the half term break), so that we can place the order with the catering team.

In order for the visit to go ahead as planned, we require a voluntary contribution of £30 per child, payable on parent pay under payment item Y4 Cadbury World 2026 no later than 1st June. This is broken down as follows:

Admission Fee: £12.95 (includes tour and a Maya workshop)
Coach Fee: £20.64
School Contribution: £3.59 (incorporates transaction charge of 48p) TOTAL: £30.00

This statement outlines the school’s policy regarding voluntary contributions for activities:

  • Equal treatment for all pupils: No child will be treated differently based on whether their parents contribute financially.
  • Activity viability: If there aren’t enough voluntary contributions to cover the costs, the activity will be cancelled.
  • Refunds: Any payments made will be fully refunded if the activity is cancelled.

This ensures fairness and transparency while emphasising the importance of collective support to make such activities possible.

If for any reason you do not give permission for your child to attend the visit or agree to pay the voluntary contribution of £30.00, please email admin2@forsbrook.staff.sch.uk

Should we not receive an email by 27th March, we will assume your child will attend and you agree to pay the charges. This information is essential in order us to confirm the numbers of children attending with the venue.

If your child would like to participate in this trip, please complete your consent via Parent Pay. Yours sincerely

Mrs Shaw, Mrs Collins and Mrs Davies Y4 Team
