This term has been full of exciting learning opportunities and wonderful achievements across all areas of the curriculum.
In English, we explored My Name is Not Refugee, where the children engaged deeply with the emotions and experiences of the characters, writing thoughtful recounts from the boy’s perspective. In reading, we enjoyed Owen and the Soldier, a moving story that helped us reflect on themes of friendship and remembrance.
In Maths, we strengthened our understanding of the four operations and explored the relationship between multiplication and division. We also completed a unit on length and height, developing our measuring skills using centimetres and metres.
In RE, we investigated the question Why does Easter matter to Christians? by retelling key Bible stories from Holy Week and linking them to the concept of salvation.
Our Computing lessons focused on online safety, where children learned about digital footprints and online reputation, demonstrating a strong understanding of how to stay safe online.
In Science, we studied how seeds and bulbs grow into plants. The children carried out comparative tests, planting seeds in different materials to observe and evaluate growth.
In Design and Technology, we explored joining techniques and designed hand puppets based on clear design criteria. Using stitching skills, the children created their own puppets from a range of materials.
In Geography, we learned about explorers past and present, comparing the achievements of Christopher Columbus and Dame Ellen MacArthur.
We also enjoyed celebrating World Book Day with creative costumes and reading activities, and ended the term with a fantastic trip to Conkers, linking perfectly to our Science learning on plants.
