Year 4 Autumn 2

Dec 20, 2024 | Year 4 2024/2025

This term has been packed with learning, creativity, and exciting adventures!

In English, we entered the magical world of the circus, inspired by the enchanting text Leon and the Place Between. We explored the wonder and mystery of this story and even created persuasive leaflets to invite others into the magic of the circus.

In Maths, our focus has been on understanding area and strengthening our times tables—a key skill for confident problem-solving.

In Design and Technology (D&T), we combined our circus theme with engineering skills to design and build moving mechanisms using levers and linkages.

In History, we dived into the Anglo-Saxon era, learning about their arrival, the five kingdoms, their way of life, and significant events in their timeline. We also studied the extraordinary story of Alexander the Great.

In Religious Education (RE), we explored the significance of baptism, starting with the baptism of Jesus and comparing it to Christian baptism practices today.

In Science, we continued investigating states of matter, observing how substances change state through heating and cooling processes.

Beyond the classroom, we’ve had so many adventures! We took an exciting school trip to the Magna Museum, enjoyed the festive fun of a pantomime performance of Dick Whittington, and celebrated together with a delicious Christmas lunch and party.

It’s been a term full of learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Now it’s time to relax and enjoy the festive season. Merry Christmas!
