This term has been full of exciting learning and wonderful achievements across all subjects.
In English, we read My Name is Not Refugee, exploring the journey of a boy and his mum. We focused on emotions and wrote recounts from the boy’s perspective. In reading, we enjoyed Owen and the Soldier, a touching story about friendship and remembrance.
In Maths, we developed our skills in the four operations and explored the link between multiplication and division. We also completed a unit on length and height, measuring in centimetres and metres.
In RE, we explored the question Why does Easter matter to Christians? by retelling Bible stories from Holy Week and linking them to the theme of salvation.
Our Computing lessons focused on online safety, including digital footprints and online reputation. The children showed great understanding of how to stay safe online.
In Science, we observed how seeds and bulbs grow into plants. We carried out comparative tests and planted seeds in different materials to evaluate growth.
In Design and Technology, we explored joining techniques and designed hand puppets based on a clear design criteria. Using stitching, we created our own puppets from a range of materials.
In Geography, we learned about past and present explorers, comparing the work of Christopher Columbus and Dame Ellen MacArthur.
We also celebrated World Book Day with costumes and reading activities and ended the term with a brilliant trip to Conkers, linking to our Science topic on plants.
